Skate With The Patriots
Skate With The Patriots, a FREE hockey skills clinic and pizza party presented by the Penfield Varsity Hockey Team for Penfield students in Grades 3-8.

This years’ event is Wednesday, November 23 at Webster Ice Arena. The clinic runs from 11am-Noon, with a pizza party immediately after.

Transportation Appreciation Day
Scribner PTA is looking for a Volunteer to help plan this years’ Transportation Appreciation Luncheon.

This is a District Wide PTA/PTO sponsored event to thank our Transportation Department for all of their hard work and dedication to our students!

Minimal time requirement necessary.

Chess Club Is Back
Scribner PTA is excited to announce that Chess Club is back for 2023!

Please help us make Chess Club’s return as successful and welcoming as possible. We need one, or more additional parent volunteers to help supervise club activities.

No chess experience is required – the Chess Master will provide all chess instruction!

All parents are encouraged to attend our monthly PTA meetings to share thoughts on important issues, ask questions, and find out about opportunities offered by Scribner and Penfield Schools.

Mr. Hirschler, teacher representatives, Board of Education members, and PTA committee members are present at these meetings. At this time, all meetings are conducted over Zoom. The schedule for our meetings this year is below – we hope to see you there!

Saturday, November 19, 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm

For children in grades K-4, with an adult.

Come to the library for some science fun! Do a hands-on science activity with a grownup. Registration opens November 5.

GIVING THANKS FOR BOOKS- BOOK SWAP

Sunday, November 20, 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm

For preschool through grade 5 with parents/caregivers

Spruce up your bookshelf with some new-to-you titles for free! Just bring in books you don’t want anymore and trade them for ones you do. The more you bring, the more you can take!

Volunteer Opportunity – Boosterthon/Dance Fit Committee

Big school fundraiser!!

The Scribner Boosterthon – Dance Fit Committee is looking for two more volunteers to join this 7-person committee.

This committee coordinates local business sponsorship as well as promoting daily wellness and exercise for the two week long event.

Volunteers also help distribute daily prizes as student fundraising goals are met.

Planning starts in January. It is approximately a 20 hour, in its entirety, commitment per committee member.

Volunteer Opportunity – Drama Club

The Scribner Drama Club Committee is back and looking for two volunteers to join this committee.

This committee supports the director, Ed Rocha and his staff from Bravo Creative Arts.

Duties may include but not limited to securing additional volunteers for the weekend of the performance, stage needs and volunteers for practices.

Volunteer Opportunity – Reading Program

The Scribner Reading Program Committee is looking for four more volunteers to join this 6 person committee.
The reading program is a 6 week program that encourages our children to read each night and aims to make reading a fun and educational part of each day.

Each year a theme is chosen around which the program focuses.

Planning starts in February and the actual program runs from April to mid-May.

Total time commitment is 8 – 10 hours.

Planet Science registration is now open!

Scribner Road PTA Announcements

Planet Science is an after school science enrichment club for 4th & 5th graders.

The purpose of this club is to provide interactive science enrichment for any interested fourth and fifth grade students.
Planet Science strives to be an extension of the school curriculum that teaches students science in a fun, interesting way.

Registration is limited to the first 60 students only.
