Scribner Dance Fit

Our Scribner Dance Fit event kicks off today and we are thrilled about this years program!

This year, our entire school is raising funds to support our Scribner PTA.
Our goal is to have 80% of our school registered by Friday, March 18th.
Registration is free and provides your student with a starting prize!

If we hit our registration goal, each student will receive a special visit on Friday from Mr. Hirschler, dressed perfectly for the occasion.

To register your student please visit: https://mybooster.com/v3

Be sure to ask your student about the Sports City Worldwide Character Lesson of the Day! Sports City is a fitness theme focused on inspiring students to be active and activate their character.
Students will travel the world learning how to live and play with more character from REAL kid-athletes.

Have a Heart fundraiser

Please support the Scribner Road Student Council’s ‘Have a Heart’ fundraiser!

This year’s fundraiser will benefit the Penfield Ecumenical Food Shelf.
The support needed by families has increased this past year and we would love to support our community with our donations.

Each classroom has chosen one item to collect and your child will receive a letter indicating the item being collected by their classroom.

Students may bring donated items to school between February 1st and 15th.
With the assistance of our PTA, donations will be delivered to the Food Shelf on behalf of our Scribner Family.

Thank you in advance for helping to support our Student Council’s thoughtful, charitable project.
We want everyone to know just how much Scribner cares.

Parent University event provided by Penfield SEPTA on Wednesday, January 19th

Supporting Students to Build Friendships & Create Positive Peer Relationships

Presenter:
Christine Nail: RCSD Elementary School Teacher w/a Specialization in Autism Studies, currently finishing a Master’s program in Inclusive Childhood Education at Nazareth College Friendship can be a difficult topic for students and even many adults.

How we form friendships can be influenced by our surroundings, how we understand the world, and our neurological differences.

Christine Nail studied friendship and loneliness among students diagnosed with autism and will present on understanding friendship ideals and how parents, teachers and school staff can support student friendships among peers.

Christine will highlight how to support friendship across general and special education environments and specific supports for students on the autism spectrum.

Questions are welcome!

The audience for this presentation is all parents and educators who want to improve friendship quality among children. Recommendations will be made for all children but could be especially useful for parents and educators of children with high social communication needs.

This is an especially timely topic given the social emotional needs of all students living through a global pandemic.
