Contact Rochester Chess Center to reserve two Chess Masters for the first six/eight Thursdays after Winter Break; the Rochester Chess Center 585-442-2430 (we work with Ron, available M-F).
Submit a building use form to add Club dates to the School calendar and to reserve the cafeteria.
Contact Art Teacher (Donielle Leger – dleger@penfield.edu) to request permission to utilize bulletin board for Chess Club Display.
Contact Mr. Hirschler to send email to Teachers requesting any teacher volunteers.
NOVEMBER/DECEMBER
Print and copy flyers for teachers to distribute December 1st.
Send electronic copy of flyer to webmaster and e-news – scribnerenews@gmail.com to post registration on social media.
Create bulletin board with club dates (copy of flyer); material to decorate the display case is available in the PTA closet
Registration and volunteer sign up closes by early January.
Create a list of registrants by grade level – for sign in and sign out
Share a copy with the front office to keep on file.
In addition to students, include list of parent/staff volunteers, and Chess Club schedule
Prepare folders for parent/staff volunteers: Include grade level registration form for attendance, Chess Master Schedule, Dismissal Procedure, and the Volunteer Information Form
JANUARY
Email parent/staff volunteers to remind of volunteer dates
Order key chains the first week of Chess Club so the Chess Masters can bring them when they come the following week. (Check PTA Closet for extras from previous years)
1st Grade – Pawn
2nd Grade – Rook
3rd Grade – Knight
4th Grade – Bishop
5th Grade – King
Committee Leads – Queen
Submit reimbursement form and receipts for Chess Masters and key chains to PTA Treasurer. Treasurer will provide a check made out to the Rochester Chess Club
