Chess club is open to students of all skill levels, including beginners who have never played chess before, as well as experienced players. A desire to learn is all that is required.
Chess Club meets after school on Thursdays for four weeks per session.
Session 1 – Grades 1-3: Jan 11, 18, 25 and Feb 1
Session 2 – Grades 4-5: Feb 8, 15, 29 and March 7
Instruction is provided in a structured, noncompetitive, casual atmosphere. It is a great opportunity to learn a new game as well as meet new friends.
First graders do very well with our program and many continue on throughout their time at Scribner.
