Just a friendly reminder –

Starting today, please use PikMyKid app to complete daily health checks before sending your kids to school!

Dear Penfield Families:

This is a reminder that we will start using the PikMyKid app as of tomorrow, Thursday, Nov. 19^th, for students’ daily COVID health checks.
Please download the app now if you haven’t already done so and set up your account, using the instructions below.

After downloading the app and completing your registration, click here for instructions on completing the Health Check In: Health Check

The steps to register are listed below and are available on our website at: PikMyKid  Resources

1. Download the app in the App Store or Google Play:
   1. Mac – https://apps.apple.com/us/app/pikmykid/id877617948
   2. Android –https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.pickmykid.main
       
2. Click on the “Register” button to start the registration process.
    
3. After you complete the registration information and click “submit,” you will receive a text with a one-time pass code. Enter the code and your registration will be complete. A video tutorial on how to register is available here: https://youtu.be/LAn1VejKxZk
    
4. The app is based on your cell phone number.
   If your child(ren) does not show up in the app after you have registered, it means we do not have your cell phone number in Infinite Campus or it is incorrect.
   To connect your number with your child(ren) in the app, please contact PikMyKid at support@pikmykid.com or (813) 864-7627.
   After you set up your app, please remember to login to your IC Parent Portal and update your information there as well.
    
5. If you do not have a smartphone, you can complete the form online at: https://parentapp.pikmykid.com/#!/
    
6. You will need to complete a form for each child every day before school. If there is a check mark next to your child’s name, it means the form has already been completed (i.e. by your spouse or the school).

As we recently shared with you, we have made the decision to move to an app called PikMyKid for our daily COVID health checks. It’s important to note that while this app originated as a student dismissal app, we are not activating that piece of it at this time. Any links regarding dismissal should be ignored. We will only be using this app for the daily health checks.

We will begin using this app as of Thursday, Nov. 19th. To prepare for this transition, you will need to download the app and register. Please take the following steps to download the app and prepare it for use (these steps are also available on our website): PikMyKid Resources

If you want to sign up for free Google Voice number so you can register for PikMyKids or for any other reasons, Sae Park is offering his assistance.
With Google Voice, you will get a real phone number that you can receive text messages (sorry no pictures).

Providing Inclusive Opportunities & Activities for All Students

Presenter: Anita O’Brien, MA, CTRS.; Executive Director of Rochester Accessible Adventures
Rochester Accessible Adventures visualizes a world where people with disabilities are physically and socially
included in sports and recreation throughout their lifetime. RAA contracts with municipalities, schools and
recreation businesses to provide on-going support that takes them from training to implementation so they
operate inclusively whenever their doors are open. Anita will discuss RAA’s work, including the
#WeWillInclude movement which is pushing out an Inclusion Ambassador Training to provide a common
understanding of Inclusion in Recreation and can be used to invite communities to embrace action-oriented
implementation which connects children, youth and adults with disabilities to accessible and welcoming
recreation and sports.

Presenter: Lindsay Jewett; Area Director for Rochester Best Buddies
Best Buddies in New York offers One-to-One Friendship, Integrated Employment, and Leadership
Development programs for individuals with and without disabilities. Though Best Buddies was founded to
provide more opportunities for those individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities we have
discovered that our Peer Buddies (students without disabilities) are provided with just as many opportunities
for growth and impactful change. Lindsay will share how the Best Buddies program helps to create inclusive
opportunities for students k-12, college and beyond.
